From Chaos to Clarity. Why Tracking Your Jobs is Essential for Freelancers.
Tracking your jobs might not sound glamorous, but once you start, you’ll wonder how you ever managed without it. In the beginning, we relied on Post-it notes and memory, but that led to missed jobs, unpaid invoices, and unnecessary stress. That’s when we created Worktabs, a tool that turned our chaotic process into clear, actionable steps.
Why Tracking Matters More Than You Think
Imagine juggling multiple projects without knowing where each stands. One's a lead, another is halfway done, and a third is ready to invoice—but you’re not sure which is which. Without a system, you’re guessing, and mistakes happen. Tracking your jobs isn’t just about staying organised—it’s about prioritisation. You can easily see what needs attention, what’s completed, and what’s waiting to be billed, saving time and reducing stress.
Worktabs solves this problem with a simple job board that tracks each stage: Leads, Confirmed, Current, Invoiced, and Paid. Each column provides a snapshot of your workflow, helping you stay on top of your projects and payments.
How It Works
Leads: Add a job card, create a quote, and send it. When the client signs off, it moves to Confirmed.
Confirmed: Shows locked-in jobs you haven’t started yet, so you can plan ahead.
Current: Your active projects—everything in motion.
Invoiced: Once the work is done, hit “Send Invoice” and the card moves here.
Paid: When payment is received, the job moves to Paid, completing the cycle.
Each column also shows a “Total” bar to track the value of jobs in that stage, making it easy to see where your time should be focused.
Who Is Worktabs For?
We designed Worktabs for freelancers—whether you're a solopreneur or small business owner, this tool helps you stay organised without the stress. Freelancers like Alison, a digital video pro, talk about how it simplified her workflow, replacing her old invoicing system with something far more efficient.
The Payoff: Less Stress, More Wins
Freelancing is tough enough without losing track of your own work. Worktabs isn’t just a tool—it’s a way to regain control. With a quick glance, you can spot bottlenecks, chase payments, and plan ahead.
